System Service Exception Error Fix

System Service Exception is an error that may appear in the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD). This error persists when an exception occurs during a system service and leads to a transition from a kernel to a user mode. When this error occurs, the computer restarts itself and any unsaved data is lost.

This error may appear in the following cases:

1. While reading and sending emails
2. While surfing the internet and downloading files from the internet
3. Before computer completely shuts down

What should you do now?

3. Change Antivirus Software
4. Replace RAM
5. Restore the System
6. Restore Corrupted System Files

Update your Drivers

Outdated drivers may cause BSOD with System Service Exception. Update your graphics, sound and network drivers. To download the latest drivers, visit the website of respective manufacturers. Or, click Start | All Programs | Accessories | Windows Updates and update all your drivers.

Repair the Problems in System Registry

Registry problems include inappropriate, outdated and incorrect information in your system registry. The information in the system registry should always be up-to-date. Outdated and incorrect information may cause the BSOD with System Service Exception error. You are recommended to use a registry fixing software to do the registry fix-up process. Be sure to restart your machine after completion.

Change Antivirus Software

Try uninstalling the existing antivirus software, and installing another. Otherwise, turn it off its’ real time protection for a certain period of time till the problem is resolved.

Replace RAM

A faulty RAM may display the BSOD with System Service Exception error. If you have a single RAM, then temporarily remove it and install another one. If you have multiple RAMs, then test them one by one separately.

Restore the System

Using System Restore program, restore the state of your computer to an earlier day so that the BSOD with System Service Exception error may not occur again. This is because; System Restore will restore the registry and file versions to an earlier day that you will select. To do so, click Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | System Restore.

Restore Corrupted System Files

System files corruption leads to various problems like System Service Exception error. There is a small tool called System File Checker installed on your computer that helps you restore the corrupted system files with the original.

1. Insert the Microsoft Windows Operating System DVD ROM.
2. Click Start | Run.
3. Type SFC /ScanNow, and press ENTER.
4. Follow the instructions.
5. Restart the computer after completion.

Clear Web Browser Cache

Bad, corrupted files stored in your web browser cache crashes it, and may cause BSOD with System Service Exception error. To clear the web browser cache, install system cleaner software and click the Delete button to perform the task.

Reset your Web Browser

The word “Reset” I used is not only restricted for the settings; but it includes operations like removal of the newly installed add-ons, toolbars, search engines, and clearing web history, cache and passwords. This will help avoiding the error.

1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click Tools | Internet Options.
3. Click Advanced tab.
4. Click Reset button from the frame Reset Internet Explorer Settings.
5. Check the box Delete Personal Settings.
6. Click Reset button to start the process.
