Ducati Monster 821 – Review
Introduction
Ducati has come out with yet another bike Monster 821. Like other bikes from its staple, it is seductively stylish, and performance-oriented. The company claims that its range of bikes represents the typical Italian culture and allure. The monster family of bikes are the company’s flagship products for some time period. These workhorses have helped it to stand the good stead in face of tough competition from other brands in the market. In order to bring the young blood into its folds, the company has come out with another massive bike christened as Monster 821. It has come in the entry-level segment with a price tag of Rs. 9.6 lakh. The other workhorses that come under this segment such as 795 and 796 have gone off-stream. Hence, these two-wheelers will be available as long as the stock lasts.
Ducati Monster 821
It is the new third-generation motorcycle that comes with number one-tech configurations. It gives the users different rider modes to choose from. These modes come preset for the eight-stage traction control. It also has three-stage ABS to offer maximum safety to the rider under any circumstances. It has a powerful engine that coughs up a power of 110.5bhp. Ducati has capped the power delivery of this engine to deliver 75bhp in urban mode. The company has optimized its throttle body and injection systems to boost low and mid-range torque for better two-wheeler controls in busy road conditions. There are manly lines drawn on the new larger 17.5-liter petrol tank. These lines make the motorcycle look muscular. The two-wheeler looks elegant when viewed from the backside. The bulky under-seat exhausts are replaced by a 2-1-2 system that makes exit from lower down on the right. The rider can look from the saddle directly on the road after having gone past the large tank, a single piece handlebar and an instrument cluster. In the instrument cluster, one can see the LCD display that shows the status of various parameters. The company has pulled the handlebar back to give the rider an opportunity to sit in the upright posture while riding the motorcycle. It has aluminium stems for housing the rear-view mirrors. The brake-lever is span-adjustable.
Features of Ducati Monster 821
While riding the Monster 821, one can feel the smooth working of the engine. The shorter gearing on riding gave him an opportunity to crawl under 20kph without losing the body balance. It could easily travel at a speed of 30kph at the third gear. Just like any other bike that loves speed, it responds to small throttle openings to stir through the traffic without getting struck anywhere.
